Interagency cooperation on prevention of gender violence

On March 27 of this year, the National Social Protection Agency and USAID’s Legal Reforms Program in Uzbekistan held a seminar on “The importance and necessity of organizing inter-agency cooperation in the prevention of gender violence” in Samarkand.

Representatives of state organizations and civil society institutions working on gender issues took part in the event.

At the meeting, there was talk about the effective organizational and legal mechanisms created in Uzbekistan to identify oppression and violence against women, prevent them, study their causes, and put an end to such situations.

The main goal of the meeting is to develop recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness of the existing system by strengthening inter-agency cooperation on gender violence.
